Guy Fawks

The Guy Fawkes idea seems to be the way forward for this project as i can demonstrate a verity of skills effectively through telling the story of Guy Fawkes. My first idea for this was to show the story through 2d shadow puppets which gradually turn 3d to show that the man on the bonfire is a stuffed puppet.

However after talking with Alan, he informed me that the original Lantern of which Guy Fawkes used is on display at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford. Also that the British Museum in London is currently holding exhibitions of which tell history through objects.

These gave me an idea for where this project can lead, more context for the piece to flow from.

The lantern will be my point of focus, and through the light emitted from the lantern will cast the origin for the shadow puppets. This will also act as my transition of 2D and 3D animation.

My audience for this animation will consist of children at key stage 2 levels. The piece is to be designed for screening in the class rooms and possibly even the museum to accompany the object from history.
This animation will be designed as one of a possible series to explain to children the significance of national holidays and festivals. It is also possible that this style animation could accompany museum exhibits, explaining their relevance to history, for young children.
