Here's a link (above) to a group call Pilobolus who use the human body (often numerous body's) to create some amazing visual effects with shadow. The great thing with shadows and silhouettes is that it allows everyone, audience and director (film or theatre) to be creative and use there imaginations from visual clues. fro instance, in this clip the people from the silhouette of penguins, which only looked like penguins (to me) at a second glance, my first thought was that they appeared as sumo wrestlers. With shadow play simple shapes can from complex imagery.
