Shadow puppets, or shadow play is an ancient form of storytelling using opaque, often articulated figures in front of an illuminated backdrop to create the illusion of moving images. shadow puppetry originated in East Asian Countries. Taiwans shadow plays are accompanied by Chaochow melodies.
For this project I plan to use and combination of 3D world space and 2D shadow puppets to tell the story. Heres an example of 2D and 3D world spaces working together.
i dont know if this will help but you should definately try and check out, 'Pilobolus' i wasnt sure if you were doing sort of transforming shadows if not, if not, they're still cool to check out :)
